Jharkhand Government has launched Abua Awaas Yojna a rural housing programme to provide three room pucca house to each houseless household living in rural areas. Approximately 16,000,00 households of rural jharkhand have been benefitted under Pradha Mantri Awaas Yojna- Gramin & Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Awaas Yojna. Even though a large number of households are there in rural jharkhand who are still houseless or living in kuchha house. “Abua Awaas yojna” (AAY) has been initiated to provide pucca house to these poor people.
The programme is being initiated in the FY 2023-24. Assistance of rupees 2 lacs has been earmarked for each beneficiary to construct a 3 room house with kitchen in 31 Sq. Meter land under AAY. Additionally they will get labour payments under MGNREGA for 95 mandays at existing rate for the construction of house.
Salient Features of AAY
Aim of AAY is to provide a pucca house along with minimum basic amenities to all houseless and households living in dialapidated houses in Jharkhand. Beneficiaries will construct quality houses themselves using locally available materials and no middlemean will be involved in the construction process. Trained masons will be engaged to construct houses under AAY as per approved housing typologies.
Amount of Assistance will be transferred to the bank account of the beneficiary through DBT process in four installments i.e., 30,000/-, 50,000/-, 1,00,000/- and 20,000/- respectively after the completion of particular level of house.
Beneficiaries will get the benefits of different other schemes through convergence.
Selection & validation of beneficiaries will be done through rigorus proces i.e., survey, Gram Sabha & finally verified by appealate committee.
